Lîla's distinct style and intuitive feel for narrative has earned her a respectable reputation as a perceptive composer for the screen whose music enriches and supports a film.
Her Celtic-Classical roots permeate her music and she specializes in writing memorable, emotive melodies and in creating vital, sensual acoustic textures and movement.
A Classically-trained musician and accomplished violinist & pianist, Lîla has twenty years' experience as a composer, song-writer, music producer, recording engineer, orchestrator and arranger.
Her orchestral work, ‘The Boat of Mananan’, won the Competition for Scottish Composers in November 2007, run by the Scottish Centres of Excellence in Music. The orchestral premier was conducted by Garry Walker, Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
Lîla currently works from her home in the Scottish Highlands and the Unity Recording Studio near Inverness where she records session musicians, ensembles, vocalists and choirs for commissioned projects.
